Fishman Aura Dreadnought
Fishman Aura Dreadnought
REDUCED TO CLEAR DISCONTINUED
The Aura imaging pedals utilise digital algorithms to process the output from a standard piezo or soundhole pickup to give it the sound of a studio miked guitar. This sound is then blended with the output from the guitar to create a much more realistic acoustic tone. It takes a bit of work with you ear to set things up just right and it helps to match the pedal with your guitar but once you do, you will find the Aura hard to live without. Each pedal has 16 different 'models' to choose from so it is fairly easy to find something to match your guitar. The other controls are simple volume and blend (image and direct signal) with a phase switch for when feedback strikes and a trim control to optimise the input (essential as there is digital processing going on). The pedals run off 9V battery or centre negative power supply.

THD Hotplate 2.7 Ohm
THD Hotplate 2.7 Ohm
This is a THD Hotplate power attenuator which is designed to sit between your (valve) amp and the speaker and soak up some of the power so you can crank your amp up and get it working properly but still control the volume. It is one of the best available and is very transparent leaving just the sound of your amp. Has a range of settings giving different degrees of attenuation - the 16dB setting also brings into play a volume control for fine tuning. The Hotplate can also be used to load an amp for recording where no speaker cab is used. Has connections for two speaker cabs but make sure you get the impedance right - this is a 2.7 Ohm one which which is a bit specific and is really designed to work with a Tweed Bandmaster or a Vibro King which aer the only amps I can think of that are 2.7Ohm. There are a couple of controls that tweak things a little - a deep and a bright switch - useful to fine tune things with your speaker. Has a light on the front which shows when it is working but it needs no external power as it is soaking it up from your amp. These retail (if you can find one) for about £280 but this one is going cheap because it is end of line stock. This is a new item and comes with the box and I suspect is probably the only one in the UK.
