We can carry out most kinds of guitar and amp repairs here on the premises - usually within a few days, depending on what is required. Our only limitation is our lack of finishing facilities at the moment, so we are not able to offer respray's or carry out repairs that require refinishing. The most common repair types are listed below:
Set-up and Service: Nearly all guitars will benefit from a good set-up and clean. We will set the action and intonation, adjust pickup height, clean the electric and fit a nice shiny set of new strings. All those years of neglect wiped away in a few hours!
Buzz Feiten Retro Fit (electric only currently): The standard guitar tuning system is a compromise which means the guitar cannot be in tune all the way along the fretboard. This system uses a shelf nut and tuning offsets correct the intonation problems of standard tuning.Check out the Buzz Feiten website for more information. £110
Fret Dress + Service: As above but with a fret dress to sort out any intonation or action problems caused by uneven fret wear or perhaps a bad fret job from new!
Full Re-fret: If you play that guitar, the frets are going to wear and sooner or later your favourite guitar is going to need a re-fret. Can breathe new life into an old instrument.
Pickup Replacement: Like the feel of the guitar but not the sound? Pickup replacement can make a big difference turning a good instrument into a great one. Check out BareKnuckle pickups for the best tone.
We can carry out all kinds of hardware or electrical replacement in your guitar such as a new tremelo system, a new nut or a new volume control.
Pedal Boards: We can help you set up the perfect pedal board, with power supply, custom wired with George L's and Pedalsnake cabling and mounted on a flight cased or 'gig bagged' board such as Pedaltrain
Amp Repair: We can sort out most problems here at Jam Guitars whether it is valve replacement, speaker replacment or fault tracing. A new set of output valves can give your trusty amp a new lease of life. Please note we only offer amp repairs on valve amps.Pedal Mods: Fallen in love with a pedal but just want a little more from it then we may be able to help. True Bypass can be added to many effects including Wah pedals to avoid the loss of tone when the pedal is switched out.
