Levinson Blade Dayton Standard Cream
Levinson Blade Dayton Standard Cream
A venture outside the classics for Blade and a very well thought out guitar. A subtle slightly offset body and two well chosen pickups - a P90 at the bridge and a single coil at the neck give us something slighty different. The bridge P90 has that classic fat single coil sound with some serious oomph and the neck pickup just does that classic single coil thing. A vintage trem, a single volume, a single tone and a 3 way switch complete the package. As with all Blades a great playing feel is guaranteed and the sounds are second to none. Comes with a fabrid hard case.

Long before Gary Levinson started making guitars under the Blade moniker, he was, like many builders, a guitar repair tech.

He spent much of the 1960s and ’70s in that line of work before opening his own workshop in Switzerland in ’77. With degrees in applied and natural sciences, Levinson approaches guitar building from an analytical standpoint, taking great pains to research the inherent resonant frequencies of woods, the tonal effect of hardware designs, electronics including active pickups, and even the metaphysical aspects of a guitar. Exhaustive research goes into those exclusive components that make a great guitar feel and sound right to a player.

In ’87, Levinson unveiled his first Blade models. By 1990 Blade had become the best selling custom high-end guitar in Europe and received endorsements from many of the world's finest players. Blade guitars have established an enviable reputation for solid build and great tone - there are many session players out there still using the Blade's from the 80's as their main guitar. If you need a classic style guitar but need a bit more versatility and a that little bit of edge that Gary Levinson has put on the designs then you must check these out - they are exceptional value for money, much better than some of the better known makers out there!
