Denis Cornell has a history in the guitar amp business going right back to the sixties when he was working on all the classic amps of the day acquiring the experience and ear that has enabled him to create the superb range of amps that bear his name. Cornell amps are point to point handwired using the best possible components all housed in jointed pine cabinets. A look inside a Cornell amp will give you a clear indication of the quality of construction, beautifully laid out, neatly soldered component boards but plugging in is the true test and you won't be disappointed, why else would Eric Clapton be using one? |

ROMANY PLUS £1000 A single 6L6 running in single ended class A - no master volume control - you want distortion then crank it up! This is a simple design based on the old American amps of the 50s with a few twists for added versatility. The 4 switchable power outputs (10, 1.5,0.3 or 0.05 Watt) enable the amp to be played flat out at low volume levels giving you that rich distortion tone without annoying the neighbours. Controls are simple -bass and treble with reverb level and also an EQ cut switch to take the tone stack out of the circuit increasing the amount of drive available. This is a great sounding amp with plenty of sparkle at the top and growl at the bottom. The clean sound is clear and musical and the distortion harmonically rich with plenty of punch. The amp responds well to the guitars volume control or simply the nuances of your playing. If you need classic blues and rock tones at home levels then this is the amp for you. The amp has a 12 inch Jensen Blue Label speaker and a long spring Accutronics reverb Also available: Romany - 10,2 ,1/4W Power, 10" Jensen Blue Label Speaker NO reverb £730 Romany Pro - Taking things up to 20Watts so you can do small gigs (also 10, 4 and 2W settings), otherwise as the Romany Plus - 1x12 £1475 or 2x10 £1515

PLEXI 7 Combo £730 Simplicity itself here - turn it on plug in and turn up. A great little amp for getting big rock and blues sounds without the volume. There are three switchable power settings for 7, 2 and 1/4 Watt allowing the amp to be run flat out even at very low volume. The only controls here are volume, tone and edge which adds a little more bite to the tone. This little amp succeeds in producing classic sounds from a very small package - great for recording and a bit more inspiring for practice than some digital box. The speaker is a 10" Celestion. |

PLEXI 18/20 Combo 1x12 £1350 The sound of two EL84's in Class A with the Cornell 'Cream Box' providing a clearer less fuzzy tone when driven hard. 20 Watts - switchable to 5 Watts for getting those classic tones at lower volume. The Plexi 18/20 delivers everything you would expect with a great responsive tone - this amp becomes another instrument to be played. The 18/20 refers to the difference in output when switching between valve (GZ34) and solid state rectification - the solid state giving a tighter sound. The amp sports a high and low input and a volume and a tone control for each channel - normal and bright. Not much, but enough to tweak things to suit your guitar. True handmade craftsmanship with turret boards made by the same company that made them in the 60's and a solid crafted ply cab. 1x12 has a Celestion Vintage 30 and two outputs - one for 4 ohm and one for 8 ohm.
